The Daily Prompt today:
For many of us, winter is blooming into spring, or fall hardening into winter. Which season do you most look forward to?
Muscat basically has two seasons: summer and not-really-summer-but-we-can’t-do-anything-about-it-so-let’s-just-call-it-winter.
The second season – for all practical purposes, let’s just stick to calling it winter – is perhaps the best thing about this place. The days are warm, yes… But not overbearingly so. And sometimes, if you’re lucky, you get the chance to show off you ‘winter’ wardrobe. My favourite thing about these not-so-warm months are the evenings… usual addas morph into languid sheesha sessions… weekends are interspersed with BBQs… long walks by the beach… Bliss!
True our winters don’t comprise beautiful snowy-scapes or the charm of Mediterranean winters.. but winters in Muscat have a certain je ne sais quoi you just can’t beat.
Ps – Here’s another post on winter from ‘back in the day’ ;)
